Since demand has gotten markedly worse in the last 2 months, a second-half 2001 recovery means that demand has to rebound right now. A second-half recovery is what I mean by a "V-shaped" downturn. Are there any signs, any at all, that demand for chips has bottomed?

Bryant was very careful on today's CC to say that they do expect the second half to be better than the first, but he pointed out how lousy the first half is going. Second half is always better because of back to school and Christmas buying. Not too much solace here.
