Right wing mocks what went wrong. Left wing prays it goes wrong.

If you interpret my concern for the seriousness of Cheney's heart problem as "ecstatic" then you must feel it is a negative thing for Republicans. I am not ecstatic about Cheny's lack of health.........like I said earlier in the week........Bush desperately needs him as a babysitter.

OK,OK, I admit it. My first comment when I heard Cheney was having new heart trouble was, "Does this mean George is going to have to really be President?"

But seriously, I don't know why a man would undertake this office knowing that he has such a serious condition. His conflict between whatever committment he may have to his idea of public service vs. considering what might actually be best for the country must be serious also.

On the other hand, this is not 1971. This is 2001 and the medical management of cardiac dysfunction has advanced considerably.

OTOH, the first stent failed in a relatively short period of time. So the probability of the second one failing may be even higher. He may not be so lucky when it does.
