Yeah Rob, the story, which I have a photocopy of, coined the verb/infinitive "to Ritterize," meaning "to clean up fraudulent brokerage houses." Both Fred and his brother Bob (now chairman at Gruntal & Co.) were busy at the time cleaning up messes at other brokerage houses. The NY Times story was, to say the least, very complimentary.

Whatever . . people read todays story about the sleazeballs at First United (could not have happened to a more deserving bunch) but make no effort to understand what it really says. Then again, eVWAP volumes in the weeks and months ahead will transcend this story in a BIG way.

Take care.
