Why does it matter if Verizon is GSM or not? I find it hard to believe that there is a lot of roaming traffic between the USA and Europe. VOD's European customers can roam on a GSM network in the US so they don't lose anything and the volume of traffic can't be very large for VOD to subsidize.

I can't imagine that inter-continental roaming is such a big thing that is worth VOD spending billions of dollars to shift alliances.

Jules Shear: Ok. Clear. GSM period.

Those who think that VOD is in the slightest bit interested in technology are now warned.

Dr J. in particular, that Bete Noir of GSM land, notice.

And Verizon that unstable wireless partnership better be forewarned that VOD will swallow them and turn to GDM.

Thanks for the wisdom.

PS Just for laughs, do you expect EDGE?

PPS Do you predict that VOD will convert all of its CDMA networks in Asia and Latin America to GSM as it will Verizon in the US?
