>>I follow a bunch of fiber optics companies. I ignored you in Ciena's thread, didn't I? I simply share what I read.<<

A thorough investor would not have ignored someone who asked for the actual passage as opposed to your paraphrasing the information. Or do you always just take a stranger's word for the gist of an article when you do your DD? If so, good luck.

PS Yes, I did notice you did not answer my questions of substance there. I guess that would be too much trouble.

MFN credits Internet with increased revenues:
mmfn.com

<<<<<<<<<<<<
MFN reported a significant increase in revenue in Q4 2000. What was behind this growth?

The growth is a result of an increase in revenue for both optical infrastructure and Internet infrastructure. Optical infrastructure revenue increased to $15.0 million, up 15% from Q3 2000. Of the $15.0 million, 95% came from recurring domestic revenue, with pricing in-line with our expectations. Approximately 85% of the optical infrastructure revenue is from carrier customers. Internet infrastructure revenue rose 18% over the previous quarter to $46.0 million.

MFN's stated goal is to deploy a fiber-optic infrastructure of 3.6 million fiber miles by 2004. How many fiber miles has MFN deployed to date?

MFN had approximately 1.43 million fiber miles deployed as of the end of Q4 2000, consisting of approximately 289,000 intercity fiber miles and 1.14 million intra-city fiber miles. This is an increase of 19% over last quarter's reported 1.2 million fiber miles.

By 2004, MFN plans to have fiber-optic networks operational in 51 cities in North America and 16 cities in Europe. What is the status of your build-out at this time?

To date, MFN has 14 cities operational, 30 cities currently under construction, and the balance in the engineering phase.
