Re: So flash will likely be flat or likely lower thgan Q4.

Flash will likely disappoint. But no one expected P4 to be such a bomb.

AMD was likely forecasting its desktop business to be limited to midrange and lower until the hammers came out (hence the focus on Duron instead of Athlon). Instead, it looks like AMD will continue to hold some of the high end desktop space, and increase share of the upper midrange.

The unexpectedly better position in the desktop sector is going to make a big, positive, difference. Enough to make up for everything else? Hard to say. But having the P4, the feared and fabled product of the deified Pentium design team, turn out to be a turkey will do wonders for AMD for the next several quarters.

Regards,

Dan

kash:

I casually mentioned your bet offer to my wife last night before lights out...I must respect her advice that bets just aren't appropriate on a chat line and consequently I am declining your bet offer...Gentleman's bet happily taken though as I can't see AMD revenues coming in below $1 billion, microprocessor sales below 6 million and eps below $0.33...In fact, I'm currently projecting $1.1 billion, 6.5 million and $0.40...for what it's worth!!!

By the way, don't be surprised by an AMD close today well above $25, maybe even well above $26!!!
