DRAM prices jumped overnight, according to Fechtor Detwiler, an investment firm that provides pricing for the DRAM market to TheStreet.com. Word that Hyundai Semiconductor missed its debt payment, says Fechtor Detwiler, spurred buying, as "speculation surrounding the repercussions of Hyundai exiting the DRAM business led buyers to replenish inventories at the current bargain-basement prices."

Prices for 64 megabit SDRAM traded a dime higher, to $2.10; prices for 128 Mb SDRAM jumped by 20 cents, to $4.10.
