"I do think that AMD had a great influence on intel pricing scheme... that had a direct impact on their revenues and gross margins."

Unquestionably, imho...For the first time in its history, INTC is faced by a competitor with superior price/performance products across all MHz ranges, low, medium and high...Long time INTC customers who have been expecting INTC to pull a rabbit out of a hat for over a year now are beginning to realize that an INTC short term solution to counter the AMD incursion just isn't going to happen...The slippage from INTC to AMD has begun and appears to be now accelerating...It is precisely this "slippage" factor that will offset weak general demand and at the same time compound INTC's woes...

I'm astounded that AMD backed off to $24.40 in the AH as a result of INTC's comments...as it is fairly clear from my perspective that a not insignificant portion of the projected 25% INTC revenue decline in Q1 results from slippage to AMD..Let us not forget the major retail market share gains captured by AMD in January!!! I'm thinking that the wise money which has been in evidence since January and busy accumulating AMD shares will surface once again today in response to the all too apparent divergent performance directions being taken by INTC and AMD over the past year...INTC's revelations of last night further underscore just how much AMD at $25 is undervalued...Heck, INTC looks like they'll have trouble making $0.14 in Q1 compared to AMD's probable $0.40 in Q1...INTC'll probably base somewhere around $30 in which case, AMD should easily climb to $40 over the near term...
