Should be interesting to watch the brokers try to administer that rule. The fine print of that rule should be fascinating.

This rule is going to classify MOST investors as day-traders.

Who - particularly when getting started - hasn't traded 4 round trips in a 5-day period?

Watch tens of thousands of accounts re-classified as "day-trading" when some unexpected news - war, etc - hits and people second-guess the decisions they'd made a few days earlier.

I dunno what the effect is going to be - to deny access to the markets to people with only a few thousand dollars to put into the market, or to cause those people to stick their necks out and borrow money to meet the requirement.
