former joe, great stuff that. thanks for digging it out. i like pennebaker's nod to dylan... "His strength is he knows what he's worth". and i also dug dylan's kid, jesse, telling those guys (who claim to be just "trying to figure out what it was like") "to read Greil Marcus' Invisible Republic (about the making of Dylan and The Band's Basement Tapes)." i read that book, and found it to be quite special. at times, during the reading of it, i was wondering what in the heck this all had to do with bob. but collectively, and eventually, it all made sense, and i began to access the flickering images of the past overlaid on the present, that greil strives for. (ooohh, that sounds like a review!) must be frustrating for those dudes trying to get next to bob. i think that kind of stuff really turns the old man off. :) mark
