I have heard some rumors about intro of palomino into desktops as well. It may not be true but if it is the other reason why it might be pushed back if amd is trying to sell off all of the t-birds. It would make sense if performance of morgan is close to t-bird.

AMD just said a few days back at the analyst presentation that Palomino was still Q1 and Q2. However, if the c't story is correct, and Palomino on the desktop has slipped another 3 months, it could be due to unexpectedly high demand for mobile Palomino, and that notebook design wins could take all Palomino production until Q3. This would be good for AMD, as mobile processors demand a premium over desktop processors.

I think you are probably correct. It seems very unlikely AMD would be able to supply enough Palominos for both desktop
and multiple notebook launches. They certainly can't afford not to deliver on any notebook commitment (assuming they do have some design wins). Their desktop offering (soon 1.3GHz) seems adequate for the time being. It's the right move since
a low volume concurrent Palomino desk top launch could significantly lessen the value of existing T birds. Looking good for AMD if they do in fact have multiple notebook design wins. We'll see soon.
