NW WI has an unemployment rate as of today of 8.4%. Part of that is due to the extended winter not allowing construction to begin but still much higher then it has been. HTCH has a plant in Eau Claire and they are adding another 75 to the permanent lay off list. The list around here has been growing for the last year. Yeah maybe the gold ole days are back:) As a side note on HTCH if anyone owns the pig. There are real doubts about their survival at this point. Banks stopped their expansion 1 1/2 years ago and the building sits incomplete and empty. Every month they lay off more and it doesn't look good. As another side note I want to give thanks for global warming. I can't imagine how damn cold it would have been this winter without it. I think I will drink a toast to the snow that came in Oct. that is still here and they are forecasting more tomorrow even though it's fairly warm today at 31:)
