I don't find a problem merging the two sides of the story What I found interesting about the news item was that they made a point of awarding it to someone who was an advocate for reconciling the two. I did a quick search of the prize and that seems to be a continuing theme. Couldn't be more timely, IMO. I remember when I was a child and first learned of evolution. I scratched my head for a while--I don't remember how long--and then quite on my own figured out that seven days wasn't literal. End of problem. Many people like you and the awardee seem to be able to deal with it. I wish I understood better what makes some so vociferously resistant. I also wish I understood why some people prefer a smiting deity to a loving one. Karen
