Sabre, <<has it ever crossed anyone's mind that the Clinton administration was cooking the numbers to such an extent that these numbers, such as todays employment numbers and the most recent ppi/cpi, are finally starting to appear as what they really are?>> I'm not sure I understand what you mean--the employment numbers show a still strong economy, and the inflation numbers have not been bad either--though not as low as a couple of years ago, it can be argued that a little inflation is not a bad thing--as long as remains a "little".

I personally believe that for the last 5+ years they have been cooked and that Bush and his staff are holding the rotten egg with respect to "real" inflation. Just a belief on my part... Sabre! " ================================================= Sabre, DITTO on my part!!!!!!!!! EXACTLY...my feelings. Also those of many on the MDD thread. My understanding is that most of those employed in the Bureau of Labor and Statistics are carreer folks and as such mostly are Democrats. I don't have a link handy but I've seen many links that have indicated how the CPI and PPI have been distorted beyond recognition to represent anything but the Clinton's and the Democrats' agenda. The modus operandii of Clinton and gang has been to lie,confuse,deny,cheat and double deal from the get go. So yes, the Nation was given the impression in the last 8 years that all is well in Fairy Land, low energy prices low health, plenty of workers, lots of cash. Go ahead America, don't save , instead place your future retirement and hopes on the stock market where 30% returns a day are guaranteed, drink and be merry cause tomorrow we'll die, TA
