In intel's rewarning CC, they did say that if they were only in the PC business, they would not have rewarned.

Microsoft (MSFT) 56 5/16 -2 15/16: WSJI is reporting that CFO John Connors told investors at the USB Piper Jaffray conference that he would not comment on the earnings outlook for the quarter and that the company has no update from its January 18 conference call.

This from Briefing and a little different from the other descriptions on this thread of what Connors said. The above is like Connors saying "no comment."
