The one-two-three punch that we could use to get the market moving in the right direction is: a better than expected inflation report this month, that would indicate that last month's inflation scare was just an abberation, an 0.50 interest rate cut on the 20th, and an indication that the economy and earnings will improve later this year. Perhaps it's wishful thinking. But, you've got to figure that the bad earnings have been priced into the market at this point.

We should go back and look at the last recession that hit in 1990-91 and see how the Naz performed then. Of course, the results are going to be skewed by the Gulf War's effect on the market.
