murali, i have to admit that i no longer consider myself an expert. ;) i have to think that the new econ generals (as opposed to the internet generals) will survive long term. that would include the stalwarts like csco intc, msft orcl, etc.

nothing real exciting here, and no easy way to make money short term imo, either up or down. why? because i am hoping this market is bottoming. and that means not much action either way, and it may take many months to do that.

when the bubble was inflating it seemed so very easy for me. now i admit i really don't know. various markets fit with various folks' styles, and then those folks do well in those markets. mine was the bubble. now i just want to hang on and remain standing. (of course there are those folks that somehow manage to do well in all markets. i would put LG of the market direction discussion thread in that category specifically. but he has left that thread apparently <ng>)

sorry my crystal ball isn't clearer right now..... ;) rob

ps. i am still hoping we have some discussion on this thread about whether bellwether yhoo's problems suggest problems for the larger new economy, or only for companies dependent on internet advertising. of course i am hoping for the latter, but still concerned.....
