ParkerVision, Texas Instruments to Develop Products

Jacksonville, Florida, March 9 (Bloomberg) -- ParkerVision Inc., a maker of audiovisual and wireless products, said it will collaborate with Texas Instruments Inc., the largest maker of chips for cellular phones, to develop products that enhance interaction between wireless devices.

As part of the agreement, Texas Instruments has purchased about $2.5 million in ParkerVision common stock, and has received 41,725 warrants with an exercise price of $29.96 a share, almost 21,000 warrants with a strike price of $37.45 and about 21,000 warrants with an exercise price of $39.84.

Texas Instruments will provide foundry services for production of ParkerVision circuits. This is the first time the companies have worked together.

ParkerVision said in a statement the initial focus will be on producing chipsets for wireless networking and next-generation digital wireless handsets. The Jacksonville, Florida-based company also said the companies will work to reduce the size and power usage of next-generation handsets.

The shares of Dallas-based Texas Instruments fell $2.05 to $32.75. ParkerVision fell 81 cents to $30.19.
