Actually , velocity is much faster in the private sector than the public. A lot of business can turn their money around within 2 wks. People can also be turn their money around quickly during an upturn. In fact, I believe velocity rather than money supply is a better indicator of the health of the economy.

Ted's fears notwithstanding; the fact that money supply and velocity are expanding is a good sign that we have hit the bottom. The tax cut should help people who are tight with their budget, and increase spending, and get the velocity cooking again.
