iso, allow me to take issue with the assertion that we are in a bear market. I realize that by definition we are. But if one looks at an S&P index in which 6% of the stocks are responsible for 45% of the movement, I wonder if the definition has much meaning.

Over the past 12 months there is only ONE sector which has shown a negative result. Does one bad sector a bear market make? Last year technology was responsible for over 40% of market cap and much like the previous energy bubble of the yore this is now being corrected.

I have been accused of sophistry in making the assertion to others that we are not in a bear market. However it is seems to me far too narrowly focused and says more about the investors than the market.
