The difference between Intel and AMD is that AMD has no where to go but up, and Intel is in the opposite position

Maybe you weren't looking but Intel has gone from ~$76 to $29 and change. Intel is in a far better position than AMD with their one trick pony. Intel has huge financial reserves and a broad product line. They continue to invest heavily in R&D while AMD languishes. Does AMD's stock buyback look so good right now? AMD has no server products, no workstation products, no notebook products, no new fabs and no .13u process. Athlon is behind the curve performance wise and no aparrant path to close the gap. SMP doesn't work and if and when they ever get their disaster of a bus to work in SMP mode, their plans are just for 2-way before abandoning EV6 entirely. No 64-bit software support while they are still trying to decide what to replace EV6 with.

I would re-evaluate my assessment of AMD if I were you.

BTW, you haven't told us lately how heavily you are invested in AMD. I currently have no positions in AMD, long, short or otherwise. Intel was honest enough to pre-announce. AMD is about as honest as Bill Clinton and hence has lied repeatedly in the past. The lack of a pre-announcement from AMD means as much as a Clinton promise. Be smart and dump any AMD position you may have before earnings(ha!) announcement.
