G.M., I agree, we the people know better how to spend that $$ than the government does, they just pee it away.
What is needed is a firm commitment to reduce the national debt every year unbtil it is gone, with a 10-20 year timetable. The most important aspect is never to increase it, downwards only, like the teeth on a snake that point one way the debt must go down. I am in Canada and we have the worst government money can buy. We have a debt that is 50% larger per person than the USA and the higher tax and interest burden that goes with it and a lower GNP per person. In addition we lack a true democracy. The winning voter can get in with 20% of the vote if the next guy has 19%....no runoffs that assure a 50%+1 vote.
Yet the parties themselves elect their leaders with a repeated vote, dropping the last one/two until the winner has 50%+1.

Enough weekend rant.
Here's to Dell and AMD...going together into the future.
