Everyday I get mail asking me to tell CNBC to stop having Blodgett or Battipaglia, or AJ Cohen and others as guests.

These people do not work for us. They are top guns at top firms. And we cannot stop having them on.

If and when their management sees fit to remove them from their posts, then their presence as guests becomes debatable. As of now we need to hear what they are thinking at GS and Bear Stearns and Merrill even if they are wrong. And when necessary, it is our job to ask these people the tough questions and hold their feet to the fire.

I would remind you however, that no one says you have to listen to them. So many people act as though if these people are on the air then automatically, their comments must be acted on. If their track records are bad, ignore them! And count on us to point this out!

As I have begun to say on the air several times a day... KNOW YOU OWN RISK TOLERANCE, TIME HORIZON AND THE SUITABILITY of your investments. YOU are the ultimate arbiter of what is done with your money... not our guests and not CNBC.

Time for people to take some responsibility for their actions and stop shooting the messengers, no?

Here's to a better week next week.
