What about the computer industry? Can we compare it to the bandwidth industry? Computer speed doubles every 18 months so said Moore, but the computer business is still growing pretty fast. There may be an oversupply in the backbone space, but the last mile is still 56k dialup for most AOL users.

Jack I read this as national only (National Fiber Optic Engineering Conference,) what ever happen to international demands. I got from the report she was talking more about quest, wcom and baby bells plus suppliers to these companies. I was looking for impact of international situation on suppliers but didn't pick up any mention.
