Napoleon XIV(real name: Jerry Samuels) - They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
written by Jerry Samuels

Remember when you ran away and
I got on my knees and begged you
Not to leave because I'd go berserk?
Well,You left me anyhow and then the
Days got worse and worse and now you
See I've gone completely out of my mind.
And,

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa.
They're coming to take me away, ho ho, he he, ha ha,
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young
Men in their clean white coats and
They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!

You thought it was a joke and so you
Laughed, you laughed!
When I had said that
Losing you would make me flip my lid - right?
You know you laughed, I heard you laugh,
You laughed, you laughed and laughed, and then you
Left, but now you know I'm utterly mad.
And,

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa.
They're coming to take me away, ho ho, he he , ha ha,
To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toesAnd they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!

I cooked your food, I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind, unselfish loving deeds? Huh?
Well, you just wait--they'll find you yet
And when they do they'll put you in the
ASPCA you mangy mutt!
And,

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa.
They're coming to take me away, ho ho, he he, ha ha,
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young
Men in their clean white coats and

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!
To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young
Men in their clean white coats and
They're coming to take me away!

After runaway success and major airplay which saw the single rise to #3 on the Billboard charts, suddenly womens' groups began threatening boycotts of station advertisers (particularly those of hit-making WABC in New York) as they believed poor Napoleon was ranting to his estranged wife, calling her a "mangy mutt"...the program directors pulled the record to avoid the heat and as quickly as it rose, it fell. But before it did, and before it was revealed that Samuels was in fact referring to a runaway dog, there was time to put together this album, a concept album about insanity!

Hi KT:

Hey it took me a few minutes to realize who you were. I see why, good luck with your new venture.

Anyway back to auto safety.

One of the problems with the side test is it pits cars against cars and with the abundance of trucks and suv's on the road you have to be careful. I know Volvo has beefed up its safety in this area (from my volvo readings) and am not sure of any other manufacturers.

Volvo, Mercedes and BMW are the three top in safety (not saying in this order but all are fine). The engineers in these companies incorporate safety and its not an after thought. SAAB used to be OK but I don't know with the GM connection and Audi's have too many mechanical issues to even consider the safety issue <gg>.

One item to watch out for is the rear end collision. Most (if not all) american cars have cheap seats that snap. This creates a whip lash for those sitting in the front seats and those in the back can be crushed. Of course you don't often read on this since in settlements the documents are sealed. To my knowledge this problem has not been corrected. I don't know if Ford or GM has addressed it in the top of the line cars but you can bet it has not been addressed in the less expensive models (they are cheap for a reason).

I don't know about the Japanese high end vehicles on safety (Acura, Infinity and Lexus) but Honda does try to incorporate safety. The Misibushi (sp??) is one to stay away from. Real lousy ratings on their suv.

Hey the new Aucura with 260hp may be a good replacement for you.

Good luck

Tim

KT, I remember both songs well. They, along with "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and "Ahab, the Arab", were part of my formative youth as well. Then the Beatles (or maybe it was puberty) came along and changed everything. <g>

Never meant to suggest you'd be so cruel as to taunt people on other threads, btw ... only that some choice remarks are being left unsaid on this thread. <g>

To All, don't bet on Sam Houston Race Park tonight, because I plan on coming home with the entire pool. <g>
