Larry,

It is worse than that!

NIKKI in 1990 was about 40,000 fell to 14,000 over a period of
a few years. The NAZ was over 5,000 and is about to fall below
2,000, a drop of over 60% in one year!

One thing about America is when we fall, we fall hard.

BTW, the Japanese prime rate is like .25% compared to what
AG has it pegged at like 5%, and growth in Japan for the past
decade has been zero, with loans going bad for the past ten
years at an increasing rate. We can't count on them to buy us
out of a recession.

Sum it up as we have not seen the bottom yet, I think.

-John

ps I want to be a JDSU Bull but I am still uncertain of the future.

CSCO and friends will lend money because they have no other acceptable choice, not because they like it... and the Fed will cut rates until they prove to the markets that this time is not different, and that they are the true gods of capitalism... because they have no other acceptable choice.

Of late, various analysts have blasphemed the Fed by suggesting that there is little they can do. I would suggest that the Fed will do everything in their power to send those sinners to hell for that indiscretion :)
