2000 are temp workers or contractors, I don't thing you have
to pay the 3 month severance pay unlike regular employees. The figure seems to be high, maybe they may layoff more workers than the announce number. Just my thoughts!!!

PS: It would be really nice if they cut the fat layers of managers who do nothing but call meetings after meetings...

Not an accountant, but wouldn't that be illegal, i.e., to claim write-offs of bad debt as employee layoff restructuring charges?knc
