<<We subsidize the tobacco industry primarily because of Democratic politicians. >>

You notice that with all the government suits against the tobacco companies not one word was mentioned about cutting tobacco subsidies?

I was down at Lake Cumberland and got talking to a waitress about the red soil. She said she lived on 5 acres that was worth $5,000 per acre and her neighbors had 5 acres worth $300 per acre. The difference? She lived on a registered tobacco farm. Each spring the state would give them tobacco plants to plant and the feds paid them to plow them down. Your tax $$ at work.

Michael, where have you been in a monastery on Mars. The tobacco company stocks were pummeled for eight years during the Clinton Administration. They have soared to great heights in a mere 12 weeks since Bush was picked for President by our SP. The NASDAQ has crumbled meanwhile. Are you stupid or do you just refuse to read the paper and understand that the reason the tobacco stocks are rising rapidly is because Georgie and Co are more interested in their welfare than that of the people.
