Yes, and you've been preaching the glories of Cisco for years

CSCO???? I think you have me confused with someone else. I owned them once, from 4/94 thru about mid 97 if I recall. Sold them way too early.

But I haven't preached the "glory of CSCO" or any networking company for at least 6 months. In fact, about that time I questioned some of the same aspects of an earnings release of theirs, that I once did for NN.

That AR and inventory growth being way out of whack compared to rev growth was an early tipoff, as it almost always is.

Those who come out of the current slump on top will be the new leaders. There are a lot of companies I'd bet on before Cisco, and at the top of that list is JDSU.

I would agree. Its just that I still think the stock price of JDSU (and CSCO, even more so) remains disconnected from the future growth potential of the company. I think earning .60/share this year will be a major feat. Therefore, the stock still trades at a 6 month forward PE of 40+. A bit too high in the current environment, don't ya think? I guess the real question remains how long until the environment improves? And how much worse it gets before then?
