Lars,

<< GSM Nokia Communicator so we can compare notes." - tell us! >>

Well, I was all pumped up about my new Kyocera 6035 (still am).

My golf mate and I were not exactly a hit (almost got hit) at dinner as we compared "WIDs", to the displeasure of our wives.

My buddy actually has 2 9000's - 1900 MHz for the States and 900 MHZ for abroad and swaps SIM on his VoiceStream subscription. Shares accessories and he has them all. The car kit is impressive. He has had the European model since it was released and the 1900 MHz job for about 2 years.

I've seen him use his Communicator often as he checked e-mail after a round of golf, but never really paid a lot of attention to its functionality.

Like me, he synchronizes with an ACT!2000 contact database, and synchs with Outlook and a corporate server for e-mail.

As much as I like my 6035 the 9000 does everything mine does and more (except voice dial). If it (or especially the new 9200) were available in a CDMA model I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Biggest differences between the 2 phones when you boil it down is the keyboard which gives the Communicator a big advantage over my 6035, and of course the new 9200 will have a color display..

The original Communicator is a stunning and practical device, especially if you realize how long ago it was designed.

The new 9200 Communicator should be a knockout.

<< Would like to see a fast CDMA-version (and GPRS of course) soon.>>

I suspect there will be a GPRS version when the development kit becomes available.

The SDK for a CDMA model is a year away.

Nokia would be smart to release the 9200 for 800/900/1800/1900 operation .... single model for worldwide GSM use.
