Pat: I have read 3 or 4 of your posts from the last few days and I much of what you are writing of late is right on the money. You trying to sucker people ;) ? (just kidding)

Your remarks regarding wasteful spending were excellent. We do need to drop the "sides" issue and deal with that. However, I don't see the pork barrel as strictly divided lines party. The waste for programs, business and other piggy features always are administered by someone of either party. Whether the money is for infrastructure or some unrelated improvement for a politician's home town being tacked on to a bill or the study of ant breeding, there certainly is no respect for taxpayers in mind when contracts are awarded or programs initiated that have no purpose other than to line pockets of vote hustlers all the way down to the Ward level of a city.

I have seen both parties do this. The Line Item Veto was created just for the purpose of avoiding such pork, however, I haven't heard much of it's usage. I hope to see President Bush make use of this and I believe people should send letters and e-mails demanding that he wipe pork from the bills that come before him for signature.

I am going to look for information on the use of the Line Item Veto to date. Maybe there is something on the net. If someone already has this information, please post it.

If there is a gene that makes you gay, is there another that makes you bi-sexual??
