just finished watching the ruiz-holyfield replay. very entertaining, despite knowing the outcome. this way i got to hear your take on the match, and bruce's, before i watched.

some personal observations...

1. ruiz falls in bad after throwing his left.

2. ruiz finally began throwing a left jab in the 12th round.

3. ruiz gets good leverage on his shots. he's a lot harder puncher, with both hands, than some people give him credit for.

4. john through a beautiful three-punch combination in the fourth round... a left to the body, a left uppercut and a straight right. he threw others, but this one was very crisp and it got holyfield's attention. i predict ruiz will throw more combinations in future fights.

5. i did not score the fight, but at the end, i had the feeling that the judges should have had the fight closer than they did.

6. i think holyfield did a lot better than i'd read and heard he had done. i won't think he is wrong if he fails to retire. he improved over his previous performance.

:)
