"Shopping for Some Worthwhile Stocks During a Bear Market Turns Up Winners"

March 11, 2001

"Convergence of data and voice communications remains a
popular theme for investors. Despite the 46% retreat in the
price of Palm 's stock since the maker of handheld
communication devices completed its IPO a year ago, Mr.
Bartlett still likes that stock,
as well as Research In Motion ,
another handheld-device maker.

"Anything that enhances productivity could well prove to be
profitable" for investors, Mr. Bartlett argues. "And that's the
name of the game in this environment."

Convergence makes PALMs valuable, even after the GOLD RUSH. If your PALM does everthing, from XTND corporate wireless internet, to kyocera smartphones with PALM inside, to the thousands of PALM OS applications and programs, why spend the money on desktops and laptops, and other wired computer devices when you can own a PALM and wait to buy superfast multi-gigabyte wired stuff later. The recovery will boost hand held devices, imho, FIRST AND FOREMOST.
