IMHO, many of the lessons you need to learn are inside of you.
Amen to that!

If you are trading now and treading water, that is great. The longer you can go without losing your money, the closer you are to your $10k/day.
Thank you. I appreciate the encouragement.

I came to trading with every misconception imaginable. I arrived expecting tea and crumpets. What I got was my head handed to me on a platter. The joy of a 10 K day? I've yet to experience that. My most exhilarating moment was the last trading day of the first month I saw my trading account stay even. For the first time, for four solid weeks, I had exposed my capital every day to the markets, and was able to bring it all back home in one piece. I'm proud of that. Just treading water, imho, is no mean feat.

This has been the most incredible, gut wrenching and mind altering journey I've ever undertaken. The battle of the market place paled in comparison to the battles that raged within me. I've had to look deep inside. I'm not happy with much that I saw there. I've been forced to to strip pretense from my assessment of self - the market leaves no room for that.

I find it ironic that an endeavor I undertook, with too much arrogance and too little discipline, for the simple purpose of making money has taught me so many lessons about me. If I actually achieve my goal of making a living at this, it will be the least of my achievements - the icing, but not the cake. Like so many things in life, it is the journey itself I have found most rewarding.

Those of you who make a living at this, who consistently extract profits from the market, have my deepest respect. I humbly offer you my congratulations. I am working, harder than I've ever worked, to join your ranks. Thanks for your post, dt - it certainly resonated with me.
