Somebody around here needs to read Rukeyser's letter once in a while. The guiding light in this day and age is "..Smarter, Faster, Better.." and the only way to achieve that is with effective application of new technology. As soon as the "..burger flipper.." at McD's can be replaced cost effectively with a burger assembly machine - which can build the product as fast as a "..stoker.." can load the patties and fixin's in the back end - it will happen. BurgerBot etc., will replace the pimple-faced gigglers, and lug nut tightenenrs, as fast as electronic, picture-menu cash registers have replaced the need to know how to read or make change. Technology may have taken a corrective whack, but it sure ain't dead. And, it will be coming back with a vengeance; as there is no other solution. Robots are really lovely people..!! I help install them all the time, and know many of them personally (ha ha ha). John :-)
