Yeah, I remember when WEB bought Salomon around the time of the Drexel crackup and when CMB, CCI, CHL etc were all selling around 12 bucks. People thought he was nuts. Oh yeah "Buffets gone off the deep end for sure this time", they said. Not. Can't happen again can it? Naaaaaaaaaah. ;o}

Patron: I love that old rascal's style. Last year, I sent his newsletter out to a whole pack of pals who thought that I was a looney for continuously taking shots at the accounting fraudsters. After reading the same thing in his annual report (written with far more style and grace than I could ever muster), they started thinking that there might be something to all this "accounting fraud" stuff coming from Earlie. It is also a treat to see the "grin" that runs through his writing, especially this year. Nothing like vindication. (g) Best, Earlie
