But they wouldn't have gotten funding if they didn't think they could take them public... the game was find anything that could be taken public quick, without regard to much else... banksters were banging on doors of ideas they could sell, period. The ideas that came across my desk had one exit strategy... go public based on comps, profit was not an issue.

No doubt... but my point stands, IMO the loss of money by the public has much more to do with houses selling crap than VC's getting help raising cash for startups.

No
