flap,

(1) >>> Re: "There was an undeclared war on the rule of law ... from '92-'00." Not bad. I'll give you two points on that one. <<<

Not bad yourself, flap. You got one of five right. Congratulations are in order.

(2) <<< Time will tell. Perhaps he will do a credible job as AG, as his predecessor Ms. Reno <<<

AHHHAHAHAHAHAHAH If he only aspires to the same level of credibility as Janet Reno, he should be taken directly to jail because he won't have anything to do except block investigations and otherwise attempt to negate the laws of the land. Come to think of it, that was a full-time job for her, wasn't it?

(3) >>> Re: the Supreme Court declaring the election over when there were still votes to be counted: <<<

No vote for president or more than one vote for president are invalid. It doesn't matter how many times you count them, they count zero. That is the law that the USSC upheld.

(4) >>> I'm not sure the Repubs understand the significance of what happened <<<

Relax, you CAN be sure that Republicans DO understand the significance of what happened: the rule of law prevailed over an attempted DemoLib coup.

(5) >>> These things happen in banana republics, not the greatest country on earth.<<<

Banana republics exist precisely because they have no Supreme Court to keep the rule of law intact. The Clinton Administration brought this country as close to becoming a banana republic as it has ever been. See point no. (1) above that you already agreed with.

Sorry. Disagree. What Gore and his henchmen attempted was the banana republic tactic. Thank God a majority of the Court stepped in to see justice done. JLA
