My recollection from newspaper articles at the time was that the ballot in question was prepared by the local Democrat Party, and approved for use by both parties. If the local Democrats thought it was confusing or unfair, they had their opportunity to challenge and change it. I also remember that anyone who wanted a new ballot was entitled to receive one if they asked for one while still in the booth, prior to turning it in. Thus, many of us on the outside think that the invalidation of those “attempted” votes was quite reasonable.

And there are many people on the outside as you put it who think that it was not reasonable. And many of those people are a part of the majority who voted for Gore.

And the system was not permitted to work. There was serious election fraud in FL.....much more has been revealed since the election. In spite of knowing that, the Rep. party rushed to get the election wrapped in that state and when the Dems' actions threatened to slow down the process, they ran to the Sup. Ct, a move juxtaposed to the beliefs expressed in their party platform.

With partisan bias which it's supposed to be above, the Sup. Ct interfered with state rights and ended the vote recount process in FL. The media and the Reps. would not let the process continue for fear of losing the electoral college [they had already lost the popular vote]...in spite of the fact that many Americans were willing to go thru it all the way.

When you thwart a process and steal an election, there is fallout to be paid. Part of this fallout is reflected in the contention on this thread. And lest you think this is the only thread or board where these arguments are breaking out, you are fooling yourself.

In addition, this argument is playing out in peoples' homes, in stores, in offices, and in restaurants. It seems to be a sore that not only will not heal but grows worse as time passes.
