The Wall Street Journal ran a story saying that Buffett was buying CNC bonds. Naturally, the CNC longs believed the story, since the Journal is a reputable paper. Just as naturally, they took the news as a good sign, since Buffett does have an excellent track record as an investor.

I also remember that at least one of the shorts on this thread trashed Buffett by saying he was over the hill at that time. I guess the short must have believed the Journal story, too, or he wouldn't have felt it necessary to question Buffett's judgement.

It later came out that the story was incorrect.

My question to you is, so what? Does this sequence of events prove anything?
