I posed a question about margin debt on Michael Burke's thread some time ago.

He basically replied that consumer level investors use of margin really does not pose a serious danger to the health of the economy. It is use of other techniques of leverage by certain financial institutions that pose the risks and tightening margin for J6P won't concern these big players (banks, hedge funds...)

It's nonsense to blame the woes of the tech stock market on the individual investor.
