Looking into Chile as well - seems to have the most stable economy in S. America. Fantastic Mediterrean weather, great mountains, they have the Easter Islands, fantastic fishing, awesome beaches.

Overseas is sounding nicer everytime I speak with you!

Montana is a bit cold, just have a friend with a ranch out there and summers are the best. Not to mention the self stocked trout streams and the cattle on the range. Enough food to survive many nuclear winters. Ted, Larry and the gang have ranches there as well if I am not mistaken. Of course tax write off money losing cattle operations and all.

they have a real trash problem in the Philippines. NHK did a special on it. people leave their garbage on the side of the road since nobody picks it up. from the looks of it, pretty disgusting once you get away from the tourist enclaves.
