In the summer of 1999, an aquaintance got on the "waiting" list for a new ferrari, pricetag $140k. The waiting list for a new convertible was 12 months.

Needless to say he never ended up getting it. I drove past the Palo Alto ferrari dealership (right across the street from Fry's) and it was filled with shiny new Ferraris.

Ho ho ho!
