P/E on the Dow is in the low 20's, 21 or 22 I believe. It is listed in a table along with P/E's for the S&P in Barrons. The P/E for the S&P is about 25 and the industrial portion a bit higher. P/E's are high if we are going into a recession. If the overall economy gets by without a recession, I suppose the lower interest rates will help support the overall market. But as the NASDAQ collapses further, I believe valuation of the entire market becomes more and more of a concern. As I alluded to previously, many NASDAQ leaders may start to look cheap compared to the usually cheaper defensive plays.
