I think the bottom is in and we've seem MANY indications by now... I just put up some AMAT charts here suite101.com I'd appreciate comments on my "TA thoughts" where I point out 3 Counter trend rallies, a 2 month period of testing with a final bottom on low volume and now a series of higher highs and higher lows. As bearish as the San Jose Mercury News was this weekend, if we don't take out AMAT lows soon, I think the bottom is well established unless the US economy goes into the toilet but I doubt that will happen. I just heard that auto inventories are well down and these are great users of chips...
