1987, 1998, and big dips in 1996, 1997 and 1999 -- bulls taking a vacation. This is something else. The bear is gorging itself and will need to nap soon, but I'll bet (I am -g) that it will wake up soon enough and it will again be very hungry.

I do not know why people so flippantly discount the thought that we are probably witnessing a once in a lifetime episode.

(Heck, the wavers are talking correction of higher degree than 1929. Who knows if they are right. Yes, they are always bearish, blah, blah, blah, but that is more a function of them being early than being wrong. Once the tumblers start to fall, I believe it is worth considering them more seriously.)
