Is not confiscation of income and assets by the government "collective ownership of property"? I hope that neither you nor I never have to find out first hand what collective ownership means. Bill, there are many arguments to be made against social engineering and the redistribution of wealth by an activist government without resorting to exaggerated labels (and the parroting of slogans, references to blowhard columnists, etc.). People on SI are capitalists. some more so than others. They just have different ideas about the role of government and about a fair and just society. Karen
