Rande--Your look at the corrupt ways of investment banks is interesting, but isn't that another thread?

Last year, I felt that this thread was so much more productive. We moved so well with the markets. The thread was abuzz with Gold and energy before they made their moves. Then they made their moves and the thread rotated out with a nice profit. And you were the captain of that fine ship. This year I see gold coming up when the easy money has already been made as PDG nears its 52-week high.

Finally, I agree that it is important to point out that there is often a conflict of interest between the bankers and their "customers", but I do think that it is important to remember that the bankers never completely lose sight of the fact that these are their customers. If the bankers do conspire to force people out of investing in growth equities they are destroying their own customer base. IMHO, they would never risk that. If you believe that they are smart enough to conspire so wickedly, then how can you believe that they are dumb enough to alienate their customers?
