Why James, your post sounded most elitist. I'm surprised you didn't proffer the suggestion that "people of quality" should be given two votes to counter those "who vote but rarely contribute." Let's backtrack a bit. For congressional representation purposes, what fraction of a human being were African-Americans prior to the Civil War? Sixty percent? Re: "If McCain gets his way, they will be the only ones determining election outcomes." What are you afraid of, James? Repubs outraised Dems this past election in both hard money and soft money. Put the brakes on soft money and you still have the edge in hard money. Plus, the Republican platform is so much superior than the Democratic platform. I don't know what your worry is.
