Novatel Wireless Branded Products Now Available To More than 100,000 Solution Providers Through Tech Data Distribution Channel

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 2001-- Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq:NVTL - news), a leading provider of wireless data communications access solutions, and Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq/NMS:TECD - news), a leading global provider of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, today announced a international distribution agreement. Novatel Wireless' product portfolio of wireless computing devices will now be available through Tech Data extensive distribution networks.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tech Data will provide Novatel Wireless solutions to technology solution providers throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, South America, and Mexico. Tech Data currently serves more than 100,000 solution providers in both the public and private sectors.

Tech Data will carry Novatel Wireless' innovative wireless access products -- the award-winning Minstrel (R) Family of Wireless Handheld Modems, Merlin® Wireless PC Card Modems and the Lancer® Family of Wireless Ruggedized Modems. The products are based on Cellular Digital Packet Data -- CDPD, which enables wireless access to email, enterprise databases and the Internet at speeds up to 19.2 kbps.
